Laura first began her work with children and families as a social worker and then moved to the field of school psychology. After staying home with her three children for nine years, she began teaching at Tree City Preschool. Coming to teaching preschool from a background of school psychology, her goal for all students is to help them begin to develop social and academic skills that will lead them to be successful in both life and school.

She loves watching the children become increasingly independent and seeing their pride as they accomplish tasks such as learning to write their names. However, she feels the best part about teaching preschool is having the privilege of being a part of the wonder, joy, and enthusiasm that three and four year olds bring to exploring their environment! She learns from them every day!

She also spends two days a week substitute teaching in the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools, where she is most often at the high school. She is fascinated by the similarities between preschoolers and adolescents! When not in schools she is most frequently found driving her children to and from their countless sports and activities. If she does find a few precious minutes to herself, she is likely either to find a tree-shaded path to walk or a cup of tea to drink and a good book to read.
