Amy Stumpf

Degrees:

  • B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University
  • M.Ed. in School Counseling from Slippery Rock University, PA

Year started at Tree City: 2019

Before resigning to stay at home with her children, Amy worked for 8 years as a middle school counselor in North Carolina. She helped establish a comprehensive anti-bullying program while working there, and believed in the importance of small group, individual, and classroom guidance. She also played a pivotal role in creating the learning, edible garden which has continued to grow and flourish. Through grant writing, the middle school students were able to gain a more hands on experience with the idea of “farm to table”. She loved to watch the students harvest their own vegetables, and to start making the connection of where their food was coming from: true lessons of hard work and dedication.

Amy enjoys the time she shares with the students, especially during craft time. She finds it  inspiring to  see the imagination and creativity come alive. Also, when a student accomplishes a task that they maybe struggled with earlier in the school year. Amy loves to see their success, and the smile that goes along with it.

When not at Tree City Preschool, you might find Amy spending time with her husband and 3 children (ages 11, 9, and 4), or running on one of the hike and bike trails.
